Spring Registration Continues at Allan Hancock College

JANUARY 13, 2020--There is still time to register for spring classes at Allan Hancock College.

Hancock continues to offer a wide variety of semester-length and eight-week classes this spring. Classes begin the week of Jan. 21.

This spring, students can fulfill their general education requirements in several degree and certificate programs including administration of justice, machining and manufacturing technology, architecture, culinary arts, engineering technology and many more. Students taking spring classes can also earn credits to help them transfer and continue to pursue their education at a four-year university.

New students must first apply for admission to the college before registering for classes. Access to the online admission application is available via the college’s newly redesigned and easy-to-use website, www.hancockollege.edu. Registration for all Hancock classes is available via the myHancock portal linked in the upper right section of the college’s homepage.

In addition to classes for credit, members of the community can also register for noncredit and fee-based classes through Allan Hancock College’s Community Education program. More than 200 noncredit Community Education courses also begin the week of Jan. 21 and include English as a Second Language (ESL), vocational education, and preparation for GED and citizenship exams.

Community Education’s fee-based classes include beginning yoga, introduction to beekeeping, art journaling, symphonic band, and more. Children between the ages of four and 18 can register for Community Education’s popular College for Kids classes, which include dance classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and other dance styles.

Free copies of Community Education’s Spring Spectrum schedule are currently available at all college locations. For more information about Community Education classes, visit www.hancockcollege.edu/communityed.

Information about all open credit and noncredit classes are available online via Class Search, located under Search Classes on the college’s homepage. Class Search is the real-time schedule of all spring credit and Community Education classes offered this spring. Students can search by class type, subject matter, location, time of day and more.

Financial aid, including federal, state and AB540/DREAM ACT, and scholarships are available for qualified students. Learn more about available financial aid and scholarships by clicking the link in the upper right of the Hancock homepage. Parents and students are encouraged to take advantage of free Cash for College workshops offered at local high schools and at Hancock campuses throughout the spring. Upcoming dates are available at www.hancockcollege.edu/calsoap/workshops.php.
